Chad filmed this climbing out of Portland in the clouds at 18000 ft. It is called Saint Elmos Fire. It is a type of static discharge, not lightening. This is across the windshield of the airplane cockpit. It is not often you get to see it. Especially since most of you don't ride in the cockpit of an airplane :).

Yea Chad like Jody said who is flying the plane? Get your hands back on the yoke! Just kidding great video, I kick myself every time I see something cool like that and don't have a camera to catch it. Remember to Fly Safe!
This was really neat to see. Jed said that it's a pretty common and cool thing. I have to agree with Jody... Who's working up there? :D
